Next — a closer look at the features and capabilities of the new functionality.
How Competitor Analysis Works in Collaborator: Step by Step
Getting started with the new tool is simple:
- Go to My Projects → select a project → Competitors in your Collaborator account.
- Add the domains of 5 of your project’s competitors.
Within 30 days, you can add up to 10 competitors for a single project.
- Automatically get key metrics for each competitor.
- Browse the Collaborator catalog to see the sites where your competitors placed links, and use this data to improve your own link-building strategy.
Important: We do not use any internal data from Collaborator projects. All information is based on public data from Majestic.com.
We automatically collect up to 1,000 referring domains per competitor. For manual backlink imports, you can upload a CSV file from Ahrefs, Majestic, SEMrush, or another service.
Once a month, you’ll receive an email with updates on new links your competitors have acquired — giving you a steady source of backlink opportunities. Save time on manual research and adjust your strategy to stay ahead.
Benefits of Automatic Competitor Analysis
With this new feature, you can:
- Quickly find sites to promote your project without tedious manual research.
- Track key SEO metrics of competitors directly in Collaborator, without switching tools.
- Optimize your link-building strategy to achieve SEO results faster.
The competitor analysis tool lets you compare your projects with competitors using metrics like:
- referring domains;
- Domain Rating (DR);
- organic traffic;
- number of keywords.
Even more importantly, you can see where competitors are placing their links. This saves time on manual research and gives you the chance to tweak your own strategy to outperform them.
Try the new competitor analysis tool now — it’s free for your projects in Collaborator.
